The Intellectual Warrior

A commentary on current events

Nov 5

A Remembrance Day Revelation

“Remember remember the fifth of November, the Gunpowder Treason and Plot.  I see no reason the Gunpowder Treason should ever be forgot.”

The irony is not lost on me.  I decide to create a current events commentary on Remembrance Day.  It’s a coincidence, I promise.  As I sat in my reading chair this morning making my rounds of the internet (Yahoo, the New York Times, Reddit…the usual) I ran across yet another story I wished to share with the Facebook crowd.  I immediately copied the URL and pasted it in my ‘input status’ field, pausing only to jot a short accompanying note, when I stopped.  I glanced down at my previous posts and saw that the majority of them were links to current events stories.

This made me ponder two questions.  First, are people sick of my links?  I (humbly) think my ideas are important and deserve to be shared, but at the same time I don’t want to be that person that shoves his views down others’ throats.  Second, is there someplace else I could take my commentaries?  Someplace that can still be easily accessed from Facebook, Google+, and Twitter, but isn’t quite as in-your-face as a posted link?  The idea struck me then:  a current events blog would be a great medium.

So here it is, the first post of my brand new blog, “The Intellectual Warrior”.  Stay tuned for upcoming posts explaining the intent and theme of my blog, as well as the reasons behind the name “The Intellectual Warrior”.  Cheers!
